Ratings

North Carolina uses an incremental Star system to rate the quality of state-licensed child care centers. Childcare programs are rated on staff education, program standards, and the school’s compliance history with licensing requirements set by the North Carolina Division of Child Development. The rating system is from One Star to Five Stars. One Star is for schools that meet only the minimum requirements. The highest rating is Five Stars for schools that meet higher voluntary standards in education, staff ratios, and programs.

Hester’s Creative Schools has one Five Star school and three Four Star schools. Hester’s has high Star ratings because we choose to only hire teachers with full qualifications, we choose to have fewer children in each classroom, and we choose to provide the highest quality educational resources and play equipment.
